New CMOS image sensor from Micron for digital cameras
Micron has released to the market a new CMOS image sensor for point and shoot digital camera and camcorders. The MT9P401 is a 5 mega pixel High Definition (HD) image sensor. It can capture both video and still images in HD format making it highly suitable for hybrid cameras. The MT9P401 capture HD video at 60 frames per second in 720p format. It can snap 15 shots in sequence in burst-mode. This sensor is aimed at making simple digital still cameras to offer features what we generally see in D-SLR cameras.
Micron has leading position in CMOS image sensor business both for cameras and mobile phones.
