Low cost 24 bit DAC from AKM
AKM Semiconductor has released to market 24 bit Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) AK4341, which operates from a unipolar positive power supply of 3.3V to 8.55V. This is a unipolar version of AKM's popular AK4340 bipolar DAC. AK4341 stereo DAC 's built in amplifier generates an output voltage of 2Vrms, so that you don't need an external op-amp.
This device has low distortion specifications of THD+N= -86dB, and signal to noise ratio of 100dB and highly immune to clock jitter, becuase it employs switched capacitor filter. Due to it's on-chip feature of automatic reset function getting activated when MCLK or LRCK is stopped there is no need of PDN pin.
Other interesting features are on-chip de-emphasis function, softmute function, power down, and 0/6/12dB output gain switching function.
This single supply DAC is targeted for STB, TV/DVD and AC-3 amplifier applications.
