0.5% tolerance SMT current sensing resistor for high temperature application
Vishay's new surface mount resistor WSLS2512 provides improved resistance stability with a maximum resistance change of 0.5% for long hour workload of 2000 hours. Vishay says this is 100% improvement over other current sensing resistors available in the market with resistance stability of 1%. This device with some special material composition can work with this high level of resistance tolerance at high temperatures of 125 deg C.
The targeted application is automotive. In automotives the engine, transmission and exhaust are hot and prone to wide temp. variation. The current resistors of this sort will help precisely monitor and control.
The resistance values available are 0.01 O to 0.1 O. The WSLS2512 offers low inductance values of 0.5 nH to 2.0 nH and low TCR values down to ±30 ppm/°C.
Availability: Sampling in Feb 07 and mass volumes in 3rd quarter of 2007 with lead time of 8 weeks.
