Maxim's ADCs to accept 12V inputs and the range is programmable

Maxim Integrated Products has released to the market, a new family of 16/14 BIT ADCs MAX1300-MAX1303 and MAX1032-MAX1035 to handle high input voltage range of +/- 12 V. Each input channel can be programmed for input voltages of ±24V, ±12V, ±6V, ±3V, 0 to +12V, -12V to 0, 0 to +6V, and -6V to 0.

This will be a requirement if some sensor is generating an analog voltage proportional to sensed parameter such as temperature pressure etc.. With the 12V input range the ADC can increase the range of sensor measurements.

All the members of this family provide eight single-ended otherwise four differential inputs. All of the inputs are over voltage tolerant up to +/-16.5 V.

The suggested input devices can be temperature sensors, Wheatstone bridges, pressure sensors, PLC and any such industrial control sensors and interfaces.

Other notable specifications are,
AC performance threshold of -97dB
DC accuracy of +/-2LSB INL
Operate from a single +5V DC source
Has a separate DVDD pin to allow direct interface to +2.7V to +5.25V.

Package: MAX1302 and MAX1034: 24-pin TSSOP
MAX1301, MAX1303, MAX1033 and MAX1035: 20-pin TSSOP
