2.25Gbps, automatic cable equalizer from Maxim for HD multimedia apps

Maxim has introduced the MAX3815A, a new 2.25Gbps, automatic cable equalizer for DVI, HDMI v1.3 "Deep Color" TMDS video signal applications.

The MAX3815A features three differential data channels, one clock channel, and an LOS (loss-of-signal) output, which automatically squelches the outputs when a clock signal is not present. For direct chip-to-chip communication, the output drivers can be switched to one-half the DVI output specification to conserve power and reduce EMI. The output drive current can also be increased to allow the use of back termination resistors for improved signal integrity.
