Low voltage comparator from ST Micro for portable devices

The new LMV331 comparator from ST Microelectronics is suitable for battery-powered devices such as notebook PCs, PDAs, mobile phones, battery supplied electronics, general-purpose portable devices and low voltage applications.

The key features of the LMV331 comparator are,

1mV of Input-offset voltage
1nA of Input-offset current
Low output saturation voltage
200 ns of propagation delay
20µA (Vcc = 2.7V) of low current consumption
Input common mode range includes ground
Open drain output
ESD tolerance of 2 kV HBM/200 V MM
Signal handling or event detection

ST Micro says that its LMV331 comparator can operate with a supply voltage ranging from 2.7 to 5 V, and exhibits a low current consumption than its predecessors LM339 and LM393. This device is a perfect choice for low-voltage applications.
