Multimedia Test System for production testing of Ford's SYNC system

Aeroflex subsidiary VI Technology has introduced a new Multimedia Test System (MMTS) designed for production testing of new and existing components of Ford's SYNC system.

The MMTS includes the hardware, software, algorithms, and extensions needed for testing all the components in devices, and improves productivity with analog & digital measurements for audio/video devices. It is commonly used at the Functional Circuit Test (FCT) and End of Line (EOL) locations in manufacturing.

VI Technology says that it worked closely with the Ford's design team to customize MMTS tests tailored specifically for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, and audio and video features found in SYNC.

The key features of the new MMTS are,

Ability to test up to 4 UUTs simultaneously to maximize throughput
User-configurable test settings
Scalable and modular for easy adaptation to new devices
Out-of-the-box report generation capabilities
Built-in compatibility with VI Technology Arendar enabling enterprise test data management

"The Ford SYNC project is a perfect example of how to leverage the MMTS," said Alex Backus, vice president of strategic development at Aeroflex. "Ford required fast and accurate automated measurements for a variety of multimedia technologies in VI Technology Develops Test Systems for Second-Generation of Ford SYNC 2 a high volume production environment. The MMTS has been recognized as the best in the industry for consistently addressing these types of challenges."
