3.5 GHz power amplifier from Anadigics for Mobile WiMAX applications

Anadigics has introduced the AWT6283R, a new 3.5 GHz full band power amplifier (PA) that meets the stringent linearity and output power requirements of the Mobile WiMAX high-speed data system. The AWT6283R power amplifier is suitable for mobile applications such as a step attenuator, a power detector and a reference voltage regulator.

The AWT6283R device is based on an advanced InGaP HBT MMIC technology offering high reliability, temperature stability, and ruggedness. An integrated step attenuator enables gain control, and an integrated voltage regulator eliminates the need for an external reference voltage.

The key features of the AWT6283R power amplifier are,

+25 dBm linear output power
21% of power efficiency
31 dB of gain
2.5 % EVM QPSK 1/2 CTC, 16 QAM OFDMA modulation
High efficiency
10 ľA of low leakage current in shutdown mode
Optimized for a 50 Ohm system
RoHS compliant package (MSL-3, 260 degrees Celsius)

Anadigics says, the AWT6283R is optimized for operation over a 500 MHz bandwidth, ensuring exceptional linearity and efficiency, and consistent RF performance, across the entire 3.5 GHz WiMAX frequency band.

"With the introduction of the AWT6283R, we're expanding our product portfolio in the fast-growing WiMAX space to deliver the most efficient, high-performance components that ultimately improve the end-user experience," said Joe Cozzarelli, director, Broadband RF Product Line for ANADIGICS. "The AWT6283R complements our existing line of WiMAX devices and offers the linearity, reliability, temperature stability and ruggedness that our customers demand."
