New compact power modules from Intersil for power supply applications

The ISL8204M and ISL8206M are the two new members of Intersil's family of compact high power DC\DC modules suitable for computing, telecommunications and networking infrastructure, and industrial product applications.

The ISL820xM family of high current DC\DC step-down modules virtually eliminates the design and manufacturing risks while improving time to market.

The key features of the two new power modules are,

ISL8204M - 4A with, 6.6A peak
ISL8206M - 6A with, 8.8A peak
Single resistor sets VOUT +0.6V up to +6V at ±1%
Up to 95% of efficiency
Overcurrent protection
Internal soft start with pre-bias output start-up
Operating input voltage range from 1VDC to 20VDC
Fast transient response

The ISL8204M and ISL8206M modules are complete switch-mode power supplies in one package, including a PWM controller, power MOSFETs, power inductor and associated discrete components.
