WUXGA supporting display IC with LVDS interface for digital TVs and PC monitors
NEC Electronics has introduced the µPD9281GC, a new super-resolution application-specific standard product (ASSP) that supports the low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) interface targeting flat panel displays, projectors for digital TVs (DTVs) and PC monitors.
Using standard video interfaces for data input and output, the µPD9281GC chip can be easily embedded in existing systems and used in a variety of applications that handle images and video.
The key features of the µPD9281GC ASSP are,
Supports up to WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels)
No frame delay enables real-time processing without a time difference between the sound and image even if the µPD9281GC is added to an existing system as is.
Images can be cleaned up at the low possible cost because external memories are not required
Includes noise reduction, overexposure suppression, and rectangle specification features
Reduces "mosquito noise" caused by JPEG and MPEG compressed images
Full HD-compatible single frame super resolution algorithm
Signal format in RGB or YUV
Signal accuracy of 10 bits per component
1920 x 1200 pixels of maximum input image size
Maximum dot clock frequency of 175 MHz (when operating at dual link)
NEC Electronics and NEC Central Research Laboratories jointly developed a new technology that enables high-resolution processing with one frame of image data.
Price: Each $20
Availability: Now, mass production is scheduled to begin in February 2010
