16-bit, 1Msps SAR ADC from Linear with 94dB SNR, ±4.096V input range

Linear has introduced the LTC2393-16, a new 16-bit SAR ADC that offers 94dB SNR at sample rates up to 1Msps with no cycle latency. The LTC2393-16 is suitable for general-purpose designs that require maximum signal swings to overcome background noise levels in industrial environments.

The key features of the LTC2393-16 ADC are,

Supports 1Msps sample rates through both serial and parallel interfaces at I/O voltages from 1.8V to 5V
±2LSB INL (Max) and 16 bits no missing codes resolution
94.2dB SNR (Typ) at fIN = 20kHz and 105dB THD
Operating from a single 5V supply and supporting a ±4.096V input range
Internal reference (20ppm/°C Max)
No pipeline delay, no cycle latency
Parallel and serial interface
Internal conversion clock

The LTC2393-16 dissipates only 140mW at 1Msps, while both nap and sleep power-down modes are provided to further reduce power during inactive periods.

The suggested applications for the LTC2393-16 ADC are medical imaging, high-speed data acquisition, digital signal processing, industrial process control, instrumentation and ATE.
