6-Channel integrated video filter from Fairchild supports 1080p HD
Fairchild Semiconductor has extended its analog video filter portfolio with the introduction of FMS6646, a new 6-channel integrated video filter with 1080p HD capability. The FMS6646 device simultaneously supports three channels of 1080p HD with filtering at 75 MHz and three channels of SD at 8 MHz, and suitable for the application s such as cable and satellite set-top boxes, DVD players, HDTV, personal video recorders (PVR), and video on demand (VOD).
Fairchild says, the FMS6646 allows the inputs and outputs to be AC- or DC-coupled, reducing up to twelve components and saving as much as 10 percent board space, compared to a discrete implementation. This device operates from a voltage of 3V to 5V.
The key features of the FMS6646 device are,
Three selectable 8/75MHz (SD/HD) filters
Three fixed 8MHz (SD) filters
Transparent input clamping
Single video load drive (2VPP, 150W, AV = 6dB)
AC- or DC-coupled inputs
AC- or DC-coupled outputs
DC-coupled outputs eliminate AC-coupling capacitors
Robust output ESD protection of 9kV HBM
The FMS6646 offers a fixed gain of 6dB.
