Mobile VoIP solutions from AudioCodes for mobile operating systems and smartphones
AudioCodes has launched the VMAS, a new family of Mobile VoIP solutions that comprises a Mobile Soft Clients and a Client Management System (CMS) for mobile operating systems such as Symbian, Windows Mobile, Apple OS and others. The VMAS also supports smartphones such as iPhone/iPod Touch, Nokia, Samsung, HTC and others.
AudioCodes' VMAS CMS provides carriers with a client distribution and back-end management system.
"We believe that Mobile VoIP will become dominant in the next few years with the growing number of Smartphones and increased processing power and data availability," stated Lior Aldema, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management at AudioCodes. "Service providers are looking for new value added services to increase revenues while allowing end users to make low cost calls at significantly improved voice quality."
AudioCodes says, VMAS leveraging on mobile and broadband networks, and VMAS Clients utilize the phone's existing address book's contacts, allowing users to conveniently use their stored information with their phone's standard interface. The Client is interoperable with major SIP Softswitches and Gateways easing network deployment.
AudioCodes says that it's Mobile VoIP solutions are designed for new applications and services such as roaming, allowing roaming subscribers to initiate voice calls and send text messages (SMS) over a cellular data and/or WiFi connection, using their current mobile handsets at high cost-effective rates, which is expected to reduce service provider customer churn.
