+3.3V dual SCART ICs from Maxim targeting set-top boxes and audio/video receivers
Maxim has introduced the MAX9670/MAX9671, a new +3.3V dual SCART ICs that route audio and video signals between a set-top box decoder chip and two external SCART connectors under I²C control. These dual SCART ICs are integrated with Maxim's DirectDrive technology to prevent click-and-pop noise and eliminate the need of AC-coupling capacitors on the audio outputs. The MAX9670/MAX9671 devices are suitable for DVD players, set-top boxes and TV applications.
The key features of the MAX9670/MAX9671 dual SCART ICs are,
70mW of quiescent power consumption
2.5mW of standby mode consumption
-62dB to 0dB (TV Audio Outputs) of programmable audio gain control
Video input and Video load detection
Video reconstruction filter with 10MHz passband and 52dB attenuation at 27MHz
Operating input voltage ranges from 3.3V to 12V
The MAX9670/MAX9671 ICs video section contains a buffered crosspoint to route video inputs to video outputs. The standard-definition video signals from the settop box decoder chip are lowpass filtered to remove out-of-band artifacts.
The MAX9670/MAX9671 also support slow-switching and fast-switching signals. An interrupt signal from the MAX9670/MAX9671 informs the microcontroller when the system status has changed.
The MAX9671 offers TV left and right audio inputs.
Operating temperature range: 0°C to +70°C
