Datacenters can minimize power breakdown further with Zero MTTR UPS systems
The quality and reliability are the two important considerations before buying an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS). However best is the UPS selected, this power electronics equipment over the time is prone to failures causing repair downtime. Innovation is helping UPS makers to address this issue; leading UPS supplier Delta Electronics has made available new range of UPS called NH Plus Series with zero Mean Time to Repair (MTTR). The concept they have applied in NH Plus Series is, it stacks N + X number of inverter modules with each module running at high capacity of (N/N+X) x100 % of its max value. Any single module failure doesn't stop the whole UPS from functioning and the spare working module can be hot-plugged before the broken module gets repaired. This way user is assured of zero breakdown of UPS with only little of its power output reduced during repair time.
This concept is not new in electronics industry but was less used in general UPS market, now with the power downtime costing severely on 24/7 data centers, such an option is required.
The other key features of this product are,
NH Plus Series maintains 94% efficiency even under 25% loading conditions. Delta claims NH Plus Series can save customers approximately INR 1, 25,000 electricity bills annually (depending on local power costs).
NH Plus Series limits maximum input current Total Harmonic Distortion (iTHD) with in 3% without any extra filters.
"Growing environmental concerns and limited resources are affecting everyone, and companies in every industry are taking steps to decrease electricity costs. Delta has designed the NH Plus Series UPS to assist customers in reducing waste and conserving energy, as well as reducing the cost of running their business," said Mr. Deepak Sharma, Country Business Head, Delta UPS. "Delta continuously devotes extensive R&D resources to advanced UPS technologies with the vision of ensuring customers' business continuity with very competitive cost performance," he added.
NH Plus Series is available in power options of 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 and 120kVA and in two different cabinet styles.
