75V low-side Intelligent Power Switches from IR for harsh 24V automotive environment
IR has introduced the AUIPS2051L and AUIPS2052G, a 75V low-side Intelligent Power Switches (IPS) for harsh 24V automotive environments including truck junction box applications.
The IPS feature a 70V active clamp and the devices shut down in over-temperature or over-current conditions, restarting once the input is turned off and turned on again, and provide the diagnostic information via a serial resistor connected to the input pin.
The AUIPS2052G is a dual channel device while the AUIPS2051L is a single channel device. The turn-on and turn-off time are optimized to minimize noise in EMI sensitive automotive applications. Both devices also provide ESD protection and low current and logic level input.
"To address the design challenges of today's junction box applications, these robust new 75V devices are capable of operating repetitively under short circuit conditions for extended periods for greater reliability," said Fabio Necco, product-marketing manager, IR's Automotive Products Business Unit.
The devices are qualified according to AEC-Q100 standards, and the AUIPS205x family is designed using IR's 75V technology and suitable to any 24V automotive loads such as solenoids or as electromechanical relay replacements.
The other key features of the Intelligent Power Switches are,
300mohm of on-resistance (max at 25C)
1.2A of minimum overcurrent shutdown
