LSI 3ware SATA + SAS RAID controller cards are VMware ESX/ESXi 4.0 certified

LSI has introduced the new software drivers for LSI 3ware 9650SE and 9690SA series RAID controller cards that provide support for VMware ESX and ESXi 4.0. These new drivers pack the advanced data protection and high throughput capabilities of LSI 3ware controllers enabled by virtualization and cloud computing environments.

The LSI 3ware 9650SE and 9690SA series controllers provide internal and external connectivity for systems' using either SATA or SAS hard drives with a variety of port configurations.

"Hardware RAID protection and performance are essential in virtualized environments," said Brent Blanchard, director of Worldwide Channel Sales and Marketing, LSI. "With the VMware Ready Certification, customers can confidently deploy LSI 3ware controllers with the VMware platform to enable server consolidation and IT cost savings."

The VMware ready certified designation signifies that the controllers have completed the extensive VMware hardware certification program testing criteria.
