New residential gateway from D-Link is powered by CopperGate homePNA chipset
D-Link's Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) residential gateway which is now shipping in volumes is designed with CopperGate's HomePNA technology based semiconductor device. D-Link has employed CopperGate's CG3110 chipset. CG3110 allows triple-play services over existing co-axial and phone lines. By supporting HomePNA 3.1 specs this chips bridges Ethernet to homePNA. The other new chipsets for HomePNA from CopperGate are CG3210H and CH3210M. For details on CopperGate HomePNA chips visit http://www.copper-gate.com/solutions/homepna/chipsets/
The D-Link DVA-G3810BN Triple-Play Home Gateway includes a built-in ADSL2/2+ modem and router with firewall, allowing connection of four 10/100 Ethernet ports, an HPNA v3.1 coaxial port, an FXS port to attach an analog phone, and a USB port to attach a network storage device.
"HomePNA is the standard for IPTV among telcos," said William Brown, associate vice president, service provider business unit North America at D-Link. "We have dozens of service providers who buy our HomePNA bridges. Now we can offer them and other service providers an outstanding residential gateway at a breakthrough price point."
"It is great to have a prestigious company like D-Link building high-performance HomePNA solutions at such an affordable price," said Gabi Hilevitz, CEO, CopperGate. "This design further solidifies HomePNA as the leading technology for deploying triple play through broadband home networks."
