Auto-selecting Hi-Speed USB switch from Fairchild for mobile handsets
Fairchild has introduced the FSA2000, an auto-selecting Hi-Speed USB switch with an integrated cap-free headphone audio amplifier for mobile handset designers. This system uses Fairchild's system-level expertise in USB switches and audio headphone amplifiers to develop a solution that is suggested for 3G cell phones, as well as netbooks and portable MP3/MP4 media players.
Through integration, the FSA2000 eliminates the use of several discrete components such as a USB switch, two large 220µF capacitors and an external headphone amplifier thus saving board space and BOM costs. It is compliant with USB 2.0 Full Speed (FS) and Hi-Speed (HS) and integrates a class AB cap-free headphone amplifier. This switch has the capability to auto-switch to USB when VBUS is present during which it does not need to power-up the headphone amplifier. This switch has a bandwidth in excess of 720MHz.
