Maxim adds new member to its deserializer family

Maxim has introduced the latest member of its LVDS deserializer family, the MAX9268 deserializer with LVDS system interface. When paired with a gigabit multimedia serial link (GMSL) serializer such as the MAX9259 or MAX9249, the MAX9268 forms a complete bidirectional digital video link over a single DC-balanced twisted-pair or differential line. It eliminates the need for an external CAN or LIN interface and enables bidirectional communication with the display module, as well as programming of camera settings through a UART/I²C interface on a frame-by-frame basis.

The MAX9259/MAX9268 chipset is suggested for automotive applications such as sign recognition, collision avoidance, night vision, and lane departure. It reduces EMI using programmable spread-spectrum modulation. The devices allow isolation between the serializer and deserializer through AC-coupling, they provide hot-swap capability to increase fault tolerance, and they allow "on-the-fly" frequency programming. Line-fault detection and integrated self-test features check for link integrity at system power-up.

The MAX9268 operates from a 3.3V core supply and features a separate supply input for interfacing to 1.8V to 3.3V logic levels.

Package: 7mm x 7mm, 48-pin TQFP
