400V, 0.8A SCR in SOT-23 package from Central Semiconductor

Central Semiconductor has released the CMPS5064, a 400V, 0.8A Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) in SOT-23 packages. It targets applications with space constraints requiring a fast switching high voltage device. It has a low gate trigger current 200µA (max) and a fast on-state switching speed of 2.8µs (typ).

The SOT-23 package are said to utilize 84% less board space than the SOT-223 and 64% less than the SOT-89. It is also said to have a 39% lower profile than the SOT-223 and 36% less than the SOT-89. The CMPS5064 is suggested for applications such as over-voltage protection, pulse generation, lamp drivers, and battery charging regulation in devices such as digital cameras, GFI protection products, and small motor controllers.
