DisplyPort transmitter and receiver from Analogix in the form of IP and chips

Analogix has launched a DisplyPort Transmitter (Tx) and Receiver (Rx) which support the VESA DisplayPort Standard version 1.2 High Bit Rate 2 (HBR2) mode. VESA DisplayPort version 1.2 supports higher bandwidth, color depths and better EMI performance at lower cost and smaller process technology compared to older version DisplayPort 1.1a.

DisplayPort version 1.2 has scalable digital display interface with optional audio and content protection capability for board applications within PC and consumer electronic (CE) devices. This interface is designed to support internal chip-to-chip and external box-to-box digital display connections. This device provides the 5.4 Gbps HBR2 feature. It can also work in 4.05 Gbps and is compliant with DisplayPort 1.1a 2.7Gbps/1.62Gbps modes.

"Analogix Semiconductor has been a leader and innovator in high-speed SerDes design for many years," said Ning Zhu, CTO of Analogix Semiconductor. "These new DisplayPort devices clearly demonstrate our superior mixed signal and robust SerDes design capabilities, and continued leadership in this space."

Availability: Now in the form of IP cores as well as devices.
