LED drivers from Diodes for low power high brightness applications
Diodes Inc. has announced the release of its ZXLD381 and ZXLD383 LED drivers to provide solution for driving low power high brightness LEDs from a single solar or rechargeable battery cell. It consists of PFM DC-DC converters with an on-board low saturation voltage switching transistor, which leaves the device needing only an inductor for LED illumination.
It can operate at low input voltages of 0.9V and delivering current up to 80mA, they generate constant current for driving single or multiple LEDs. It is said to deliver efficiencies as high as 93%.
The ZXLD383 combines ZXLD381 with a dual function enable input thus providing inhibit control and low voltage drop isolation diode for battery charging purposes in garden lights, thus eliminating the need for an external photocell array isolation diode.
