Maxim's ultra-small microprocessor supervisory IC can monitor six voltages

Maxim introduces the MAX16055, 6-voltage microprocessor supervisory IC with integrated reset timing, prevents the need for an external capacitor.

This device is ideal for low-voltage monitoring in multivoltage systems such as telecommunications, networking equipment, storage devices, high-end printers, and computers.

Whenever one of the six monitored voltages falls below its threshold, the open-drain reset output asserts and remains asserted for at least 140ms after all six voltages exceed their respective thresholds. The reset output is internally pulled up to VCC to eliminate the need for an external resistor, but can be overdriven to accommodate other logic devices. A manual reset is also provided.

Maxim offers ten versions of the MAX16055, which provide different thresholds and supply tolerances to meet all low-voltage system requirements. Preset thresholds for monitoring 3.3, 3, 2.5, 1.8, 1.5, 1.2, 1.1, 1.0, and 0.9V supplies with -5% and -10% tolerance are available; additionally, adjustable versions are available to accommodate most of the standard logic devices.

MAX16055 operates from 1V to 5.5V with the power derived from one of the monitored inputs, thereby eliminating the need for a separate VCC pin. The MAX16055 consumes only 25microamps (typ) of quiescent current.

Operating temperature range: -40°C to +125°C
Package: 3mm x 3mm, 10-pin µMAX package.
Price: Start at $2.33 for 2.5k pieces.
