CAN transceivers with higher EMC and ESD performance by NXP Semiconductor
NXP has introduced a high speed-CAN transceiver, TJA1043 with high Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) performance levels. This is an advanced stand-alone HS-CAN transceiver solution providing power supply control for the entire node.
The TJA1043 with features such as fail-safe features, network diagnostics and wake-up source recognition is designed to deliver high-speed (1 M bits/s) performance and reliability at lower costs. TJA1043 is fully ISO 11898-2 and ISO 11898-5 compliant and has been qualified to Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) standard Q100. TJA1043 is a better replacement for TJA1041A High-Speed CAN transceiver.
"By developing this new and enhanced generation of HS-CAN transceivers, NXP is supporting the increase of electronic applications in the car. As a leading automotive supplier, NXP is committed to design and develop products that are greener, safer and more reliable while keeping the system costs low. Building on 15 years of in-vehicle network (IVN) developments, we offer a complete transceiver portfolio covering key automotive network standards," said Toni Versluijs, Senior Director and General Manager CAN/LIN Transceivers, NXP Semiconductors.
Other interesting features include:
24V support for truck applications
VIO input allows for direct interfacing with 3 V and 5 V microcontrollers
SPLIT voltage output for stabilizing the recessive bus level
Listen-only mode for node diagnosis and failure containment
Protection and diagnosis (detection and signalling)
Bus pins and VBAT protected against transients in automotive environments
Transmit Data (TXD) dominant time-out function with diagnosis
TXD-to-RXD short-circuit handler with diagnosis
Thermal protection with diagnosis
Undervoltage detection and recovery on pins VCC, VIO and VBAT
Bus line short-circuit diagnosis
Bus dominant clamping diagnosis
Cold start diagnosis (first battery connection)
