ST Microelectronics released new power MOSFET for lighting applications.

The STD11NM60N is the first member of new family of MOSFETs from ST Microelectronics for lighting applications. This new MOSFET has very less on resistance and also improvements can be found in other key specs.

Here are the key features and specs:

The maximum RDS(on) = 450 milli ohms; down by 55% compared to previous MOSFETs for same application.
Withstand Voltage = 600V
Feature a driver circuit to enable the MOSFETs to drive higher current at lower VGS(th) of 2 V. The range of VGS used to drive the device is also lowered.
Provides better dv/dt capabilities
Package: DPAK/IPAK and TO220FP

Suitable applications: High power factor electronics ballasts and High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamp electronic ballasts .
