8 bit MCU in 18 pin SOIC @ $2.00 each for motion control applications

Microchip has poured in 10 MIPS, 40 MHz, 8 bit microcontroller in to small package of 18 pin SOIC. This is designed for simple and less algorithm intensive motor control applications.
The PIC16F users can migrate to this family for additional benefits.

The PIC18F1330 is suggested for 3-phase ACIM VF motors, Brushed DC motors, 3-phase BLDC motors and stepper motors. Applications targeted are, home appliances, power supplies, lighting, fan controllers, and automotive.
