Light based distance measuring sensors from Sharp America for touchfree operations

Sharp has released GP2Y0D805Z0F and GP2Y0D810Z0F to sense the presence of object through optical distance measuring based on the principle of triangulation. These are developed for use in touchfree sanitory applications where the user can flush the toilet without pressing or touching, but these devices can be extended to other applications like security, home appliances. These sensors can be pulled to low power mode by activating standby pin.
