Inductor based 500mA LED driver for digital cameras from Catalyst Semi.

CAT4134, new LED driver from Catalyst can take a current load 500mA. Exclusively made for digital cameras with the option of video and flash mode through a single pin and two resistors. It has two o/p channels, each capable of driving two to six white LEDs in series. Suits well for li-ion battery source with minimum I/P voltage of 3 volts.

The other key features are
1. Sleep mode option; less current mode via a shut down pin.
2. Soft start control and current limiting.
3. Protection against short circuit and thermal overload.
4. Over voltage protection pin to set the maximum operating voltage at the output.
5. Maximum power efficiency of 85 percent.
