HD MWIR thermal camera from Excelitas for long range use

Photonic sensor expert Excelitas said it has received significant launch order for its new long range, High Definition (HD) MWIR Camera – OrcIR. OrcIR features small pitch sensor technology and continuous zoom optic in offering good long-range imaging performance in a compact space envelope.

OrcIR is optimized for longer range applications including border and naval surveillance, fire control and C-UAS applications. For maritime installations. To protect against wiper abrasion and environmental conditions OrcIR comes with an optional Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) tilted window.

OrcIR offers increased range performance with a longer focal length of 500 mm in the narrow field of view. Ruggedized and low SWAP-C packaged camera feature F/3 zoom lens combined with the latest generation of high operating temperature (HOT), 1280x720, 10 mm imaging engine.
