Software supports ZNS featuring NVMe v1.4 testing for SSDs

Test tool vendor Teledyne LeCroy has announced the availability of software "SVF Pro/Enduro v4.6" for its popular OakGate test tools to support testing of Zoned Namespace (ZNS) and NVM Express (NVMe) v1.4 solid-state storage devices (SSDs) . Using this software, SSD memory makers can verify their product's performance and compliance with these latest specs.

ZNS technology in solid state drives prevents multiple writes of same data, saves from using extra memory space while moving data around during a process called garbage collection, and lessens the usage of DRAM. This will result in improvement of throughput and latency and enhance the performance.

Teledyne LeCroy claims its SVF Pro/Enduro software allows a much deeper and more effective method of validating the ZNS feature set than what is available in the market today.
