ME1210 mobile edge platform from Kontron supporting Open RAN

Powered by Xeon D-2100 processor, the new ME1210 mobile edge platform from Kontron to simplify the deployment of open RAN.

Kontron is offering series of carrier grade commercial off-the-shelf server products for the Open RAN market in collaboration with leading open RAN software vendor Mavenir. ME1210 is designed as as compact and rugged piece of hardware. Customers can also buy outdoor version of this product named RS1210 which will be available in two IP65 variants to resist dust, water, ice and vibrations.

ME1210 compliance with most of the VRAN software, features two PCIe expansion slots for hardware acceleration, embedded on-board switch, and daisychain configuration to connect multiple distributed units together. Kontron also provides a timing and synchronisation module as an option to enable 1588v2 transparent clock with Sync-E or GNSS input with OCXO to support 4 hour hold-over requirements.
