Wide band track and hold amplifiers from Hittite for high speed ADCs

Hittite Microwave Corporation has introduced a family of new Track & Hold Amplifiers (THA) that offers microwave signal sampling with wide bandwidth, good linearity and low noise.

This family of amplifiers is suitable for use at the front end of high speed analog to digital converters. These amplifiers are also suitable for applications such as wideband microwave A/D conversion for radar, communications, and electronic surveillance systems or any wideband system requiring high speed sampling. Additional applications include test equipment and sampling scopes.

Features of HMC661LC4B:
1. Single rank THA
2. Signal sampling: Over 18 GHz bandwidth
3. Linearity: 9 to 10-bit at 1 Vp-p full scale level
4. Input frequency: DC to beyond 5 GHz
5. Noise: 1.05 mV
6. Random sample jitter: Typically <70 fs and can be clocked to 4 GS/s
7. Provides DC-coupled, differential signal I/Os and differential clock inputs
8. I/Os are 50 Ohm impedance

Features of HMC760LC4B:
1. Single rank THA
2. Signal sampling: Over 5 GHz bandwidth
3. Linearity: 9 to 10-bit at 1 Vp-p full scale level
4. Input frequency: DC to 5 GHz
5. Noise level: 0.9 mV.
6. Random sample jitter: Typically <70 fs and can be clocked to 4 GS/s

The HMC661LC4B and the HMC760LC4B are available in 4 x 4 mm QFN ceramic surface mount packages.
