ST and AWS collaborate FreeRTOS IoT node-to-cloud solutions

STMicroelectronics is collaborating with Amazon Web Services (AWS) on Amazon FreeRTOS, the latest addition to the AWS Internet of Things (IoT) solution, offering a complete IoT node-to-cloud solution to the market.

Engineers can develop connectable IoT nodes combining ST’s semiconductor devices and Amazon FreeRTOS, a free and open-source real-time operating-system kernel for embedded devices (FreeRTOS) with the appropriate libraries for local networking, cloud connectivity, security, and remote software updates.

At the official release of Amazon FreeRTOS, a version of the OS and libraries are immediately available to run on the ultra-low-power STM32L4 series of microcontrollers.

The starter kit for Amazon FreeRTOS is ST’s B-L475E-IOT01A Discovery kit for IoT node is powered by STM32L4 series microcontroller.
